Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that, in any county of less than 200,000 inhabitants in which there is a municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants and in which a board of review already exists, the mayor of the municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants shall appoint 2 of the 3 members of the board of review. Sets the procedures for making the appointments. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning revenue.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 6-6 as follows: |
| 6 |
| (35 ILCS 200/6-6 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 6-6. Appointed boards of review in certain counties. |
| 8 |
| In any county of less than 200,000 inhabitants in which there |
| 9 |
| is a municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants and in |
| 10 |
| which a board of review already exists, the mayor of the |
| 11 |
| municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants shall appoint 2 |
| 12 |
| of the 3 members of the board of review. The mayor shall |
| 13 |
| appoint the successor to fill the first and third vacancies on |
| 14 |
| the board of review that occur, by the expiration of the term |
| 15 |
| of office or otherwise, after the effective date of this |
| 16 |
| amendatory Act of the 94th General Assembly. Vacancies shall be |
| 17 |
| filled in like manner as original
appointments under this |
| 18 |
| Section for the balance of the unexpired term.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 |
| becoming law.
