SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













35 ILCS 200/6-6 new










    Amends the Property Tax Code. Provides that, in any county of less than 200,000 inhabitants in which there is a municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants and in which a board of review already exists, the mayor of the  municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants shall appoint  2 of the 3 members of the board of review. Sets the procedures for making the appointments. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning revenue.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Property Tax Code is amended  by adding 
5
Section 6-6  as follows:

    (35 ILCS 200/6-6 new)

    Sec. 6-6. Appointed boards of review in certain counties. 
8
In any county of less than 200,000 inhabitants in which there 
9
is a municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants and in 
10
which a board of review already exists, the mayor of the  
11
municipality with more than 100,000 inhabitants shall appoint  2 
12
of the 3 members of the board of review. The mayor shall 
13
appoint the successor to fill the first and third vacancies on 
14
the board of review  that occur, by the expiration of the term 
15
of office or otherwise, after the effective date of this 
16
amendatory Act of the 94th General Assembly. Vacancies shall be 
17
filled in like manner as original
appointments under this 
18
Section for the balance of the unexpired term.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
20
becoming law.
