30 ILCS 500/30-50 new










    Amends the Illinois Procurement Code.  Makes fraudulent misrepresentation of a product, design, or construction schedule with respect to a Capital Development Board construction contract a Class 4 felony.  Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning procurement.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Procurement Code is amended  by 
5
adding Section 30-50 as follows:

    (30 ILCS 500/30-50  new)

    Sec. 30-50. Fraudulent misrepresentation.  Any person who 
8
fraudulently misrepresents any product, design, or 
9
construction schedule with respect to a construction contract 
10
for which the Capital Development Board is the chief 
11
procurement officer is guilty of a Class 4 felony.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
13
becoming law.
