| AN ACT concerning local government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 3-5024.1 as follows: |
| 6 |
| (55 ILCS 5/3-5024.1 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 3-5024.1. Electronic filing. Each county may |
| 8 |
| determine if, and the extent to which, the recorder will |
| 9 |
| receive
an electronic filing of any instrument normally filed |
| 10 |
| with that office. An electronic filing shall have the
same |
| 11 |
| force and effect as a filing made on paper in all cases where |
| 12 |
| the county has authorized such electronic filing. Any method of |
| 13 |
| electronic filing must conform with the requirements of this |
| 14 |
| Act.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 16 |
| becoming law.
