| SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The bridge that the Illinois Department of |
| 3 |
| Transportation is now constructing over the Rock River to |
| 4 |
| connect the cities of Rock Island and Moline to the Milan |
| 5 |
| Beltway and the village of Milan will aid the flow of traffic |
| 6 |
| in the Illinois Quad-Cities; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, The bridge connecting Milan with Rock Island and |
| 8 |
| Moline is expected to make that area grow in population, |
| 9 |
| businesses, and homes; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, A newspaper poll of suggested names resulted in |
| 11 |
| the selection of "Carr's Crossing"; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, The name "Veteran's Memorial Bridge" was |
| 13 |
| suggested as a tribute to those who are currently serving our |
| 14 |
| country in the military and to those who served in the past; |
| 15 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES |
| 18 |
| CONCURRING HEREIN, that the bridge being constructed over the |
| 19 |
| Rock River to connect the cities of Rock Island and Moline with |
| 20 |
| the village of Milan be designated the Veteran's Memorial |
| 21 |
| Bridge at Carr's Crossing; and be it further
|
| 22 |
| RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be delivered to |
| 23 |
| the mayors of the cities of Rock Island and Moline, to the |
| 24 |
| president of the village of Milan, and to the Illinois |
| 25 |
| Secretary of Transportation.
