| SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the General Assembly of the State |
| 3 |
| of Illinois learned with regret of the death in Iraq of U.S. |
| 4 |
| Army Specialist Ron Gebur on Saturday, May 13, 2006; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Specialist Gebur was a platoon leader assigned as |
| 6 |
| a sniper with the U.S. Army 4th Infantry Division based at Fort |
| 7 |
| Hood, Texas; he joined the National Guard in 2002 after |
| 8 |
| graduating from Delavan High School; he enlisted in the U.S. |
| 9 |
| Army about two years later; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He was active in sports growing up; he played in |
| 11 |
| the Pekin Hockey League and on the Delavan High School baseball |
| 12 |
| team; he was named outstanding catcher on an all-star team in |
| 13 |
| Dallas, Oregon, where his family lived for some time; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He had a big heart and always thought of others; |
| 15 |
| he especially enjoyed fishing, camping, and baseball; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of U.S. Army Specialist Ron Gebur has |
| 17 |
| been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, U.S. Army Sgt. |
| 18 |
| Bethany Gebur; his son, Gage; his parents, Larry and Debra |
| 19 |
| Gebur; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, David and Karen |
| 20 |
| Boswell; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES |

| CONCURRING HEREIN, that we mourn the passing of U.S. Army |
| 24 |
| Specialist Ron Gebur, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
| 25 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 26 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of U.S. Army Specialist |
| 28 |
| Ron Gebur and his willingness to serve our country, which led |
| 29 |
| to him making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further |
