| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, Breathing is the single most important act we do |
| 3 |
| to stay alive; and
|
| 4 |
| WHEREAS, Pulmonary fibrosis is a largely unknown disease |
| 5 |
| that is often misdiagnosed and that most people have never |
| 6 |
| heard of; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, As many as 200,000 Americans have been diagnosed |
| 8 |
| with pulmonary fibrosis and 40,000 Americans die each year from |
| 9 |
| this disease; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, Education on the part of physicians and patients |
| 11 |
| is critical; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Support from our communities is imperative so that |
| 13 |
| more people can be aware of the symptoms of pulmonary fibrosis |
| 14 |
| in order to obtain quicker diagnosis and earlier treatment; |
| 15 |
| therefore, be it
|
| 16 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 17 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we proclaim the month |
| 18 |
| of November 2005 as Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Month and |
| 19 |
| November 22, 2005 as Pulmonary Fibrosis Awareness Day in the |
| 20 |
| State of Illinois; and be it further
|
| 21 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 22 |
| presented to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
