| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, 4-H is the largest youth organization in the State |
| 3 |
| of Illinois, challenging nearly 300,000 Illinois youth and |
| 4 |
| adults with unique "hands on" learning each year; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, 4-H is an effective educational program based on |
| 6 |
| the expertise of the United States Department of Agriculture |
| 7 |
| and University of Illinois Extension, planned by local, county, |
| 8 |
| and State committees; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Nearly 25,000 caring, nurturing adults work |
| 10 |
| together with 4-H youth in family and community environments to |
| 11 |
| create real life learning laboratories that help youth practice |
| 12 |
| skills they need today and will continue to use in their |
| 13 |
| future; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, 4-H enriches Illinois youth with important |
| 15 |
| programs that make countless differences in the lives of youth |
| 16 |
| and adults and the communities in which they live; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, 4-H is a family and community effort supplementing |
| 18 |
| and complementing the home, church, and school with |
| 19 |
| action-oriented and practical educational experiences; |
| 20 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we hereby designate |
| 23 |
| Wednesday, March 16, 2005, as 4-H Day at the State Capitol, and |
| 24 |
| we salute the rich tradition of Illinois 4-H club work and the |
| 25 |
| outstanding accomplishments of Illinois 4-H members and |
| 26 |
| leaders.
