| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of George Leroy Thompson of |
| 4 |
| McHenry on Sunday, March 27, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on April 12, 1934, in Chicago, to Roy |
| 6 |
| J. and Margaret E. (Hoelterhoff) Thompson; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a |
| 8 |
| delegate for the Illinois Department of Conservation; he was |
| 9 |
| elected to the McHenry County Republican Hall of Fame and was a |
| 10 |
| Republican Committeeman for over 30 years; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of George Leroy Thompson has been |
| 12 |
| deeply felt by many, especially his children, Marie |
| 13 |
| (Christopher) Hockett, Margaret (Michael) Wolf, George F. |
| 14 |
| (Joanne) Thompson, Catherine Thompson, and Jean (David) Davis; |
| 15 |
| his grandchildren, Weston and Jacqueline Stogsdill, Ian and |
| 16 |
| Hilary Wolf, Jessica, Erin, Jacob, and Anna Thompson, and |
| 17 |
| Nicholas and Megan Davis; his step-grandson, Charles Hockett; |
| 18 |
| and his sisters, Patricia Preston and Marcia Thompson; he was |
| 19 |
| preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Thomas, |
| 20 |
| Roy "Buzzie", and James Thompson; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 23 |
| George Leroy Thompson, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
| 24 |
| his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
| 25 |
| further

| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 27 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
| 28 |
| sympathy.
