| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, Detective Anthony Hosey of Plainfield, a |
| 3 |
| five-year veteran of the Illinois State University (ISU) Police |
| 4 |
| Department, died in an automobile accident April 25, 2005, |
| 5 |
| while heading home from an investigation; and
|
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, Detective Hosey graduated from ISU with a B.A. in |
| 7 |
| Therapeutic Recreation Administration in 1992 and had played |
| 8 |
| football for the school; he was 37 years old; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He was appointed to the ISU Police Department in |
| 10 |
| July of 2000 and assigned to the Patrol Division; he
previously |
| 11 |
| served with the Robbins Police Department and was a
graduate
of
|
| 12 |
| the Cook County Sheriff's Police Academy; he was subsequently |
| 13 |
| assigned
to the ISU Police, Criminal Investigation
Division, |
| 14 |
| where
he was detailed to Task Force Six, a covert undercover |
| 15 |
| narcotics
suppression unit; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, He had received two state meritorious service |
| 17 |
| medals, earning the Chief's Award of Merit in 2003 and 2004 for |
| 18 |
| his efforts in combating illegal drug sales; he was the first |
| 19 |
| ISU officer in more than two decades to win the award in |
| 20 |
| consecutive years; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police |
| 22 |
| and active member of Omega Psi Phi at Illinois State |
| 23 |
| University; and
|
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, Detective Hosey will be remembered as a gentlemen,
|
| 25 |
| a professional
in ever sense of the word, fearless on the job, |
| 26 |
| but also kind, gentle, and caring; he exemplified the highest |
| 27 |
| traditions of
the
police service; and
|
| 28 |
| WHEREAS, He is survived by his wife, Shannon (nee |
| 29 |
| McGinnis); he was the father of four, son of Hattie Hosey and |
