| SENATE RESOLUTION
|
| 2 |
| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Haydn B. Phillips Jr. of |
| 4 |
| Herrin on April 25, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Phillips was born October 6, 1919, in Marion, |
| 6 |
| to Margariet (Brewster) Phillips and Haydn Phillips Sr.; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was a World War II Army veteran; after |
| 8 |
| returning home from the war, he was company commander of the |
| 9 |
| transportation corps out of DuQuoin; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad; |
| 11 |
| and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, one |
| 13 |
| sister, Winnie Maeser, and one brother, Charles Phillips; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Haydn Phillips Jr. is felt by all |
| 15 |
| who knew and loved him, especially his wife, Thelma (West) |
| 16 |
| Phillips; his son, Steve Phillips and wife, Elizabeth; his |
| 17 |
| grandchild, Tyler Phillips; his nephews, Mike Murphy, David |
| 18 |
| Murphy, Mike Maeser, Joe Maeser, and Bob Denison; his niece, |
| 19 |
| Margie Donolo; and close friends, Eric, Kristin, and Maxine; |
| 20 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 23 |
| Haydn B. Phillips Jr. and extend our sincerest condolences to |
| 24 |
| his family, friends, and community; and be it further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
| 27 |
| sympathy.
