| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of John W. Klun of Zeigler on |
| 4 |
| May 1, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Klun was born September 2, 1915, in |
| 6 |
| Litchfield, to Louis and Mary (Poznic) Klun; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He was an Army veteran of World War II who served |
| 8 |
| in the African and European theaters and was a former member of |
| 9 |
| Zeigler American Legion, Patrick McClellan Post 177; and
|
| 10 |
| WHEREAS, He retired from Norge Industries in Herrin and |
| 11 |
| worked in the shipping department; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He played baseball for Zeigler American Legion |
| 13 |
| under coach George Hall; they advanced to the finals at Wrigley |
| 14 |
| Field in Chicago; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in |
| 16 |
| Zeigler and served as an alter boy for Father Charles Siefert; |
| 17 |
| and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, two |
| 19 |
| brothers, Louis and Ludwig Klun, and a sister, Marie Mientus; |
| 20 |
| and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of John W. Klun is felt by all who |
| 22 |
| knew and loved him, especially his sister, Johanna Pollack; his |
| 23 |
| niece and her husband, Geneva and Joe Castrale; and his nephew, |
| 24 |
| John Klun; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
