| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Helen Franklin of Colp on |
| 4 |
| May 9, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Franklin was born January 12, 1915, in |
| 6 |
| Herrin, to Charles and Gertrude (Margraves) Daniels; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, She married John Phillips, who preceded her in |
| 8 |
| death, and then married Enoch Franklin; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She was a homemaker and a devoted member of |
| 10 |
| Cambria First Apostolic Church; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husbands; her |
| 12 |
| stepdaughter, Rilla Haught; her sisters, Dania Daniels, Martha |
| 13 |
| Masters, Ruby Carney, Lela Berry, Ollie McKnight, Lois Daniels, |
| 14 |
| and an infant sister; and her brothers, James Albert, Charles |
| 15 |
| Lloyd, William Frank, and Louis Virgil Daniels; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Helen Franklin is felt by all who |
| 17 |
| knew and loved her, especially her stepsons, Conrad and Lois |
| 18 |
| Franklin, Dayton and Bonnie Franklin, and Lynwood and Lura Mae |
| 19 |
| Franklin; her stepdaughters, Cora Ann and Jack Foy, Patsy and |
| 20 |
| George Tharp, and Joyce and Samuel Latta; her sisters and one |
| 21 |
| brother-in-law, Mary and Paul Wasik and Wanda Brookmyer; and |
| 22 |
| her 18 stepgrandchildren, 37 great-stepgrandchildren, and |
| 23 |
| several great-great-stepgrandchildren; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 26 |
| Helen Franklin and extend our sincerest condolences to her |
| 27 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
|
