SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of Frank D. Cluck of Carterville on Saturday, May 14, 2005; and

WHEREAS, He was born on March 20, 1929, in Detroit to Emeral and Velma (Jacobs) Cluck; they moved to Southern Illinois when Mr. Cluck was three years old; he was raised in Southern Illinois and went to West Frankfort Community High School; he graduated from Johnston City High School in 1946; he married Dorothy Rosko on March 25, 1950, in Chicago; they shared 55 years together; and

WHEREAS, Mr. Cluck was a Lutheran; he worked for Austenal Labs and Verson Alsteel Press Company, both in Chicago; after graduating from Thornton Community College in 1974, he returned to Southern Illinois to attend Southern Illinois University at Carbondale; and

WHEREAS, He and his wife owned and operated Mama C's Pizza for 18 years; he was a man of many talents; he built three houses, two in Tinley Park, and his current home, which is completely solar; he also taught shop and drafting at Carterville High School; and

WHEREAS, In his spare time, he loved to garden and also became interested in making wine; he grew his own grapes; he enjoyed playing pool with his many friends throughout the years; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Frank D. Cluck has been deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Dorothy Cluck; his son, Frank Cluck Jr.; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Randy Patke; his son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Diane Cluck; his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia (Cindy) and Charlie Heynen; his grandchildren, Melissa Adkins and husband Les, Spc. Kristopher Patke, Aimee Kubes and husband Rick, Richard Romines Jr., Tabith Romines, Meghan Patke, Jeremy Heynen, and Stephanie Cluck; his great-grandchildren, Zoe and Raya Kubes; his sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Bud Tarnow; his sister-in-law, Dean Cluck; his sister-in-law, Mary (Cluck) and Tom Wallace; his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his adopted son, Sam Jones and wife Brenda; he was preceded in death by his parents; his granddaughter, Natalie Cluck; and his brothers, Kenneth, Denny, and Perry Cluck; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Frank D. Cluck, who was loved by all and was a mentor to many students throughout the years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to his family as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
