| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of John A. Bakshis of Vernon |
| 4 |
| Hills, formerly of North Chicago, on October 21, 2004; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Bakshis was born April 10, 1922, in Waukegan |
| 6 |
| and was a 1940 graduate of Waukegan Township High School; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He had been a resident of North Chicago for 49 |
| 8 |
| years, retiring to Vernon Hills in 1992; he was a U.S. Navy |
| 9 |
| veteran, having served during World War II, and retired after |
| 10 |
| many years as a supervisor at OMC in Waukegan; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, He was a member of St. Joseph Parish in |
| 12 |
| Libertyville and a very active member of the Vernon Hills |
| 13 |
| Seniors; and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, John and |
| 15 |
| Sophia (nee Truskauskas) Bakshis; his wife, Eva; his infant |
| 16 |
| daughter, Mary; and his brother, Anthony; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of John A. Bakshis is felt by all who |
| 18 |
| knew and loved him, especially his children, Joan (Donald) |
| 19 |
| Dallman, John (Rosemarie) Bakshis Jr., Robert (Maureen) |
| 20 |
| Bakshis, Joseph (Roxann Marshburn) Bakshis, and Edward |
| 21 |
| (Patricia) Bakshis; his 16 grandchildren; his 18 |
| 22 |
| great-grandchildren; and his sister, Valeria Motiaytis; |
| 23 |
| therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 26 |
| John A. Bakshis and extend our sincerest condolences to his |
| 27 |
| family, friends, and community; and be it further
