| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of John K. Hovenga of Herrin |
| 4 |
| on August 9, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Hovenga was born July 24, 1951, in Charles |
| 6 |
| City, Iowa, to Harm and Marian (Hinders) Hovenga; he married |
| 7 |
| Lynola Palmer in Herrin on April 4, 1975; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, He was a heavy equipment operator with E.T. |
| 9 |
| Simonds Construction Company; he was a member and deacon at |
| 10 |
| Hurricane Baptist Church; he was also an avid fly fisherman; |
| 11 |
| and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of John Hovenga is felt by all who |
| 14 |
| knew and loved him, especially his wife, Lynola; his son, |
| 15 |
| Christopher Hovenga; his daughter and son-in-law, Tracy and |
| 16 |
| David Galloway; his granddaughter, Brittany Galloway; his |
| 17 |
| grandson, Johnathon Galloway; his parents, Harm and Marian |
| 18 |
| Hovenga; his sister, Elaine and husband Jerry Kenner; his |
| 19 |
| brother, Stanley and wife Tammy Hovenga; and his nieces and |
| 20 |
| nephews; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 22 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 23 |
| John Hovenga and extend our sincerest condolences to his family |
| 24 |
| and friends; and be it further
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 26 |
| presented to his family as an expression of our deepest |
| 27 |
| sympathy.
