| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
|
| 3 |
| learned with sadness of the death of Mark A. Linder, age 31, of |
| 4 |
| Peoria, on
October 15, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born October 18, 1973 in Peoria to Jody |
| 6 |
| Linder and Rex Linder; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, Mark was graduated from Richwoods High School; he |
| 8 |
| received his bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois |
| 9 |
| University in 1995; he completed his master's degree studies at |
| 10 |
| Western Kentucky University in 1997 in the field of |
| 11 |
| industrial-occupational psychology; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, He was employed in Information Services at CEFCU |
| 13 |
| (Citizens Equity First Credit Union); and
|
| 14 |
| WHEREAS, He was an active volunteer with the American Red |
| 15 |
| Cross and the Relay for Life; he was active in the American |
| 16 |
| Brain Tumor Association and that Association honored Mark by |
| 17 |
| establishing an academic fellowship in his honor, known as the |
| 18 |
| Mark Linder/American Brain Tumor Association Fellowship; and
|
| 19 |
| WHEREAS, Mark founded the Walk for the Mind, a fundraiser |
| 20 |
| walk for brain tumor research, which was first held on Peoria's |
| 21 |
| Riverfront in 2003; the most recent Walk for the Mind in 2005 |
| 22 |
| involved more than 300 participants and raised in excess of |
| 23 |
| $25,000 for brain tumor research and related activities; and |
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Mark A. Linder is felt by all who |
| 25 |
| knew and loved him,
especially his parents, Jody Linder and Rex |
| 26 |
| and Laurie Linder; his sisters Jamie and Stacie; his |
| 27 |
| grandparents, Lyman D. Ketchum and Mary Kay and Louis Amberg; |
| 28 |
| aunts and uncles, Barbara and Alan Ketchum, Betty and Nick |
| 29 |
| Kouzomis, Mary and Marc Folladori, Beverlie and Robert Scott, |
