| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The Senate was saddened to learn of the death of |
| 3 |
| Danny Thomas "Hobart" McCluskey of Carterville, Illinois on |
| 4 |
| September 29, 2005; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McCluskey was born October 1, 1949, in |
| 6 |
| Carbondale, to Hiram Thomas and Virginia Colleen (Volner) |
| 7 |
| McCluskey; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McCluskey was a Sergeant for the Williamson |
| 9 |
| County Sheriff's Department for the past 30 years; he worked |
| 10 |
| for the City of Carterville for five years, working for the |
| 11 |
| police, fire, and water departments; he was a member of First |
| 12 |
| Baptist Church in Carterville and attended the First Christian |
| 13 |
| Church in Carterville; he was a member of the Fraternal Order |
| 14 |
| of Police; and
|
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McCluskey was an avid fisherman and |
| 16 |
| outdoorsman; he also was an enthusiastic Carterville sports |
| 17 |
| fan, NASCAR fan, and St. Louis sports fan; he loved his dogs |
| 18 |
| and his guns; he was a certified marksmanship instructor; he |
| 19 |
| participated in the Bass World Sports Tournament, and in 2003 |
| 20 |
| he won the Harkins Bass Tournament; he was a former member of |
| 21 |
| the Little Egypt Bass Club; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McCluskey is survived by three daughters, |
| 23 |
| Laura, Jennifer, and Rebecca McCluskey, and their mother, |
| 24 |
| Christine McCluskey Thompson; his fiancée, Rhonda Kay Tyner; |
| 25 |
| his mother, Virginia McCluskey of Carterville; his brother and |
| 26 |
| sister-in-law, the Rev. William W. and Janet McCluskey; and his |
| 27 |
| nephew and niece, Caleb and Sarah McCluskey; he was preceded in |
| 28 |
| death by his father; and
|
| 29 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. McCluskey will be greatly missed by all who |
| 30 |
| knew him, especially his family and friends; therefore, be it
|
