| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The Illinois Senate learned with sadness of the |
| 3 |
| death of Canary Banks of North Chicago on March 4, 2005 at the |
| 4 |
| age of 90; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Canary Banks was one of seven children born to |
| 6 |
| Herbert and Louise Land; she spent most of her life as a |
| 7 |
| resident of East St. Louis, but recently moved to North Chicago |
| 8 |
| to live with her son and daughter-in-law; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, The loss of Ms. Banks will be deeply felt by many, |
| 10 |
| especially her loving son and daughter-in-law, Wadell and Daisy |
| 11 |
| Brooks; her grandchildren, Yolanda Brooks, Wadell Brooks, Jr., |
| 12 |
| and CasSandra Brooks; her great-grandchildren, Waddell Brooks |
| 13 |
| III and Chassity Brooks; her sister, Irene Kelly; her brother, |
| 14 |
| Willie Land; her goddaughter, Genola Gaddis; and a host of |
| 15 |
| nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends; therefore, be it
|

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 17 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 18 |
| Canary Banks and extend our sincere condolences to her family |
| 19 |
| and friends; and be it further
|
| 20 |
| RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 21 |
| presented to the family of Canary Banks as an expression of our |
| 22 |
| deepest sympathy.
