| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Paul "Jerry" Ellis of |
| 4 |
| Aurora on Saturday, March 11, 2006; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis was born on January 27, 1931 in Urbana |
| 6 |
| to Carlin and Betty (Minnick) Ellis; his family moved to Aurora |
| 7 |
| when he was five years old; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis was a 1949 graduate of West Aurora High |
| 9 |
| School; he graduated with a bachelor's degree in business from |
| 10 |
| Marquette University in 1957; he and his wife, Suzanne (Stare) |
| 11 |
| shared fifty years of marriage; and
|
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, |
| 13 |
| where he was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska with the United |
| 14 |
| States Coast Guard; he retired from Chicago Metra in 1996 and |
| 15 |
| subsequently worked part-time at Precision Packaging; and
|
| 16 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis was a loyal West Aurora basketball fan; |
| 17 |
| he was inducted into the West Aurora High School Alumni Hall of |
| 18 |
| Fame in 2003 and was a member of the West Aurora Booster |
| 19 |
| Association; and
|
| 20 |
| WHEREAS, Mr. Ellis was an active member of Holy Angels |
| 21 |
| Church; he enjoyed camping, vacations in Pensacola, Florida, |
| 22 |
| and traveling with friends of 40 years (the Rinky Dinks); he |
| 23 |
| was blessed with many good friends; and
|
| 24 |
| WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his son, David Paul |
| 25 |
| Ellis, and his parents; and
|
| 26 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Paul "Jerry" Ellis has been deeply |
| 27 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Suzanne; his children, Joan |
| 28 |
| Ellis, John (Mary) Ellis, Paula (Brad) Bonifas, Joel Ellis, and |
