SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to express their sincere condolences to the family and friends of Valerie Elizabeth Sydnor of Waukegan, who passed away on April 19, 2006; and

WHEREAS, Valerie Sydnor was born on October 19, 1977 in Chicago; and

WHEREAS, She attended East West University in Chicago, majoring in English and Psychology; she had plans to return to school to finish her bachelor's degree; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Sydnor had a special love for children; she began her career by working at St. Sabina's Daycare in Chicago and followed with teaching at Shelia Daniel's Christian Academy in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, Valerie Sydnor was incredibly creative and had an awesome talent for the creative arts; she received many honorable awards for poetry and had one of her poems, "Black Rose", published; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Sydnor was active in her faith; she was baptized at an early age and was an active member of The Sign of the Dove Church in Waukegan; and

WHEREAS, She was known for her loveable and outgoing attitude; and

WHEREAS, Ms. Sydnor was preceded in death by her parents, Brenda Sydnor and Freddy Grant; and her grandfather Henry Charles Sydnor; and

WHEREAS, The passing of Valerie Elizabeth Sydnor will be felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her brother, John; her niece, Porsha; her grandmother, Mary Ball; her aunts, Linda Cooper and Mary; her uncles, Anthony and George; her godmother, Crystal; her extended family, Danae, Jennifer, and Jordan Powell; and a host of relatives and friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with all who knew and loved her, the death of Valerie Elizabeth Sydnor; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Valerie Elizabeth Sydnor with our sincere condolences.
