| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the death of Donald J. Johnson of Alton |
| 4 |
| on Monday, August 7, 2006; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, He was born on May 14, 1946, in Harrisburg to |
| 6 |
| Roger and Norma (Hanks) Johnson; and
|
| 7 |
| WHEREAS, He married the former Barbara A. Tepen on May 10, |
| 8 |
| 1969, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, He owned and operated D.J.'s Bar and Grill in |
| 10 |
| Upper Alton for the last 26 years; he was a winner of the Pride |
| 11 |
| Chili Cook-off several times, a board member of the Boys and |
| 12 |
| Girls Club of Alton, and a supporter of the Alton-Godfrey |
| 13 |
| Rotary Club, the Upper Alton Businessman's Association, and the |
| 14 |
| Quarterback Club; and |
| 15 |
| WHEREAS, He was an avid golfer, fisherman, and card player; |
| 16 |
| he was a great University of Illinois sports fan, supporting |
| 17 |
| all sports at the university; and
|
| 18 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Donald J. Johnson has been deeply |
| 19 |
| felt by many, especially his wife, Barbara; his parents, Roger |
| 20 |
| and Norma; his children, Jennifer Johnson and Brad Johnson and |
| 21 |
| his wife, Melissa; his grandchildren, Jessica and Jacob Johnson |
| 22 |
| and Emilee Martin; his brother, Michael Johnson; several |
| 23 |
| brothers and sisters-in-law; and his many nieces and nephews; |
| 24 |
| therefore, be it

| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |

| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 27 |
| Donald J. Johnson, and we extend our sincere condolences to his |
| 28 |
| family, his friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
