| SENATE RESOLUTION

| WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois |
| 3 |
| learned with regret of the passing of Lois Marie Christeson of |
| 4 |
| Godfrey on October 8, 2006; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Lois Marie Dorris was born on August 12, 1919, in |
| 6 |
| Alton, the daughter of Bart and Margaret (Barker) Dorris; she |
| 7 |
| married Voyde Tice Christeson in 1938; he preceded her in death |
| 8 |
| in 1990; and
|
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Christeson was a 1938 graduate of Alton |
| 10 |
| Senior High School and was in the drum and bugle corps.; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Christeson ran the grocery store on the |
| 12 |
| corner of Pearl and Brown streets while her husband served in |
| 13 |
| World War II; she then worked at Onized Glass Co. on the layers |
| 14 |
| on "D" shift and was an assistant manager at Ben Franklin in |
| 15 |
| North Alton; she was a member of Godfrey Baptist Church for |
| 16 |
| many years; and
|
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, The passing of Lois Marie Christeson has been |
| 18 |
| deeply felt by many, especially her sons, Ronald L. and Robert |
| 19 |
| L; her niece, Donna Whelchel; her nephews, Craig, Steven, and |
| 20 |
| Jay; her grandson, Master Sgt. Rob S. (Dorothy) Christeson; and |
| 21 |
| her great-grandson, Matthew; and
|
| 22 |
| WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald |
| 23 |
| Dorris; and her sister, Anna Mae Batchelor; therefore, be it
|
| 24 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 25 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 26 |
| Lois Marie Christeson, and we extend our sincere condolences to |
| 27 |
| her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it |
