| SENATE RESOLUTION
|

| WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate were saddened |
| 3 |
| to learn of the passing of Grace Genevra Fair of Chicago, |
| 4 |
| Illinois; and
|
| 5 |
| WHEREAS, Grace Genevra Rogers was born in Chicago, Illinois |
| 6 |
| on September 14, 1936; her parents were Thaddeus and Grace |
| 7 |
| Rogers; and
|
| 8 |
| WHEREAS, She grew up in the Morgan Park community in |
| 9 |
| Chicago and attended Shoop Elementary School, Morgan Park High |
| 10 |
| School, and Chicago Teachers' College; and
|
| 11 |
| WHEREAS, On February 11, 1955, she was united in marriage |
| 12 |
| to Ivan Fair; and
|
| 13 |
| WHEREAS, Grace worked for Vee Jay Records after college; |
| 14 |
| when Vee Jay moved to California, she was recommended for a job |
| 15 |
| with the American Federation of Television and Radio |
| 16 |
| Artists/Screen Actors Guild; Executive Director Ray Jones |
| 17 |
| hired Grace to be his assistant and over the years she moved |
| 18 |
| upward, ending with her positions as Assistant Executive |
| 19 |
| Secretary and Interim Executive Secretary; she retired in 2001 |
| 20 |
| and moved to Las Vegas with her husband; and
|
| 21 |
| WHEREAS, Grace is survived by her husband, Ivan; her |
| 22 |
| daughter, Daphne (Jeremiah) Fair-Leary; her sisters, Francis |
| 23 |
| (Bishop) McGuire, and Charlotte Banks (nee Joseph); and her |
| 24 |
| nieces, nephews, and friends; therefore, be it
|
| 25 |
| RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL |
| 26 |
| ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we extend our sincere |
| 27 |
| condolences to the family and friends of Grace Genevra Fair, |
| 28 |
| and wish them the best at this time of loss; and be it further
