SENATE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois 
3
learned with regret of the death of Julia Kolisek of Benton, on 
4
Wednesday, September 27, 2006; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, She was born on December 23, 1907, in Panama, to 
6
John and Katherine (Seidle) Fizel; she was united in marriage 
7
to Frank Kolisek Sr. on October 2, 1926; he preceded her in 
8
death in 1978; and

 
9
    WHEREAS, She received her nursing training at St. Mary's 
10
Hospital in East St. Louis and was the first educated nurse to 
11
work in Zeigler Hospital; she also worked as a nurse at Moore 
12
Hospital in Benton, as a charge nurse at Franklin Hospital, and 
13
as a nurse in the Franklin Hospital Skilled Care Nursing Unit; 
14
and

 
15
    WHEREAS, She liked antiques and enjoyed collecting them in 
16
her spare time; she was a life-time member of the Easter Star 
17
and was a member for 67 years; and

    WHEREAS, The passing of Julia Kolisek has been deeply felt 
19
by many, especially her sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and 
20
Marietta Kolisek and John and Janet Kolisek; her daughters and  
21
sons-in-law, Rose Ann and Michael Kosor, Katherine L. and Dick 
22
Ellis, Wilma J. Nangle, Margaret S. Rice, and Beverly J. 
23
Kolisek; her grandchildren and spouses, Jane and Paul 
24
McAllister, Michael and Cynthia Kosor Jr., Karen and Rob 
25
Robles, Dr. Derek and Karin Ellis, Dr. David and Penny Ellis, 
26
Anita and Ollie Horton, Melinda and Jan Melvin, John Nangle, 
27
Dr. Frank and Lisa Kolisek, J. Michael Kolisek, Kevin Kolisek, 
28
Jamie Nelson, Gretchen and John Jenkins, Lisa and Doug Auld, 
29
and Andrea and Mark Wilkinson; her  great-grandchildren, 
30
Christopher Kosor, Jacqueline and Kara Evans, Dwight and 
31
Shannon Ellis, Stephanie, Josh and Valerie Ellis, Marcus and

Moore and JoAnn Nangle; and brother, John Fizel Jr.; therefore,

    RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL 
10
ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
11
Julia Kolisek, and we extend our sincere condolences to her 
12
family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
13
further

 
14
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15
presented to her family as an expression of our deepest 
16
sympathy.
