SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Mother Frances Davis, who passed away on
4 February 6, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, She was born on July 29, 1926, in Osceola,
6 Arkansas; she was the second of five children born to the late
7 Ulysses and Ardana Richardson Anderson; and
 
8     WHEREAS, She was married to the late Henry Davis, Sr.;
9 together, they were blessed with nine children; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She accepted Jesus Christ at the age of thirteen;
11 she worked as a teaching assistant at Englewood High School for
12 thirty-three years, taking her position very serious; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Prior to joining the Pleasant Green Missionary
14 Baptist Church in 1969, she was a member of Beth Eden Baptist
15 Church, where the late Rev. Keller served as pastor; she served
16 her church as chairman of the Mothers Board, teacher of class
17 #11, instructor for the Choicy Reed and Strawhorn Mission
18 Circles, as a member of the Nurses Health Unit, and as a worker
19 with the Substance Abuse Ministry; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Mother Frances Davis is survived by her children,
21 Etta LaConstance ("Connie"), Laura and Lora, Hank "Jr."
22 (Patty), Henrietta, James Jose' (Freda), Veronica (Robert),
23 and David; her sisters and brothers, Annie Laura, Katherine,
24 and Calvin (Margaret); her brother-in-love, Floyd; her
25 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins,
26 in-laws, Englewood High School staff, neighbors, friends, and
27 the Pleasant Green Church Family; and
 
28     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry,
29 her sister, Katrina ("Tina"), her daughter, Annie LaCynthia

1 ("Cookie"), and her grandchildren, Jaxon and Marcus;
2 therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express to the
5 family of Mother Frances Davis our sincere condolences; and be
6 it further
 
7     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the family of Mother Frances Davis.
