Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Highway Code. Provides that the Department of Transportation shall select a capital improvement project related to pedestrian or vehicular facilities as a pilot project in which rubberized asphalt shall be used in place of conventional asphalt. Sets requirements for the project. Provides that the Department shall select the project within 6 months, and the project must be completed within 12 months.

House Amendment No. 1
Provides that the Department shall report to the General Assembly, no later than 3 months after completion of the project, the results of an initial evaluation of the performance of rubberized asphalt and shall subsequently report its findings once every 3 months. Provides that the provision is repealed after 3 years.
