SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
Appropriates $25,000,000 from the Tobacco Settlement Recovery Fund to the Illinois Regenerative Medicine Institute under the Department of Public Health for the purpose of awarding grants for stem cell research. Effective July 1, 2007.

AN ACT concerning appropriations.
Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, represented in the General Assembly:
Section 5. The amount of $25,000,000, or so much of that amount as may be necessary, is appropriated from the Tobacco Settlement Recovery Fund to the Illinois Regenerative Medicine Institute under the Department of Public Health for the purpose of awarding grants for stem cell research.
Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 2007.
