    Amends the Veterans Preference Act. Increases the fine for a violation of the Act to a minimum of $75 (instead of $25) and a maximum of $300 (instead of $100). Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning veterans.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Veterans Preference Act is amended  by 
5
changing Section 3 as follows:

    Sec. 3.

    Any person who knowingly and wilfully violates the 
9
provisions of this
Act, is guilty of a petty offense and shall 
10
be fined not less than $75
$25, nor
more than $300
$100 for 
11
each offense.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon

becoming law.
