| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |

| Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 |
| amended by changing Section 605-55 as follows:
|

| (20 ILCS 605/605-55) (was 20 ILCS 605/46.21)

| Sec. 605-55. Contracts and
and other acts to accomplish |
| 9 |
| Department's
duties. To make and enter into contracts, |
| 10 |
| including but not limited
to making grants and loans to units |
| 11 |
| of local government, private
agencies as defined in the |
| 12 |
| Illinois State Auditing Act, non-profit
corporations, |
| 13 |
| educational institutions, and for-profit businesses as
|
| 14 |
| authorized pursuant to appropriations by the General Assembly |
| 15 |
| from the
Build Illinois Bond Fund, the Fund for
Illinois' |
| 16 |
| Future, the Capital Development Fund, and the General Revenue
|
| 17 |
| Fund, and generally to do all things that, in its judgment, may |
| 18 |
| be
necessary, proper, and expedient in accomplishing its |
| 19 |
| duties. |
