Amends the School Code. Requires the Chicago Board of Education to develop a plan for implementing a program that seeks to establish common bonds between youth of various backgrounds and ethnicities, which must be similar to that of the Challenge Day organization.

| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The School Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 |
| 34-18.34 as follows: |
| 6 |
| (105 ILCS 5/34-18.34 new)
|
| 7 |
| Sec. 34-18.34. Youth program. The board shall develop a |
| 8 |
| plan for implementing a program that seeks to establish common |
| 9 |
| bonds between youth of various backgrounds and ethnicities, |
| 10 |
| which must be similar to that of the Challenge Day |
| 11 |
| organization.
