    AN ACT concerning public aid.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended  by 
5
adding Section 12-14.2 as follows:

    (305 ILCS 5/12-14.2  new)
7
    Sec. 12-14.2. Medical assistance; program audit. The 
8
Commission on Government Forecasting and Accountability shall 
9
contract with an independent certified public accountant to 
10
perform a program audit of the medical assistance program under 
11
Article V of this Code. As used in this Section "program audit" 
12
has the meaning ascribed to that term in the Illinois State 
13
Auditing Act.
