| AN ACT concerning civil law.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Code of Civil Procedure is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 13-202.3 as follows:
|

| (735 ILCS 5/13-202.3 new) |
| 7 |
| Sec. 13-202.3. For an action arising out of an injury |
| 8 |
| caused by "sexual conduct" or "sexual penetration" as defined |
| 9 |
| in Section 12-12 of the Criminal Code of 1961, the limitation |
| 10 |
| period in Section 13-202 does not run during a time period when |
| 11 |
| the person injured is subject to threats, intimidation, |
| 12 |
| manipulation, or fraud perpetrated by the perpetrator or by a |
| 13 |
| person the perpetrator knew or should have known was acting in |
| 14 |
| the interest of the perpetrator.

| 15 |
| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect January |
| 16 |
| 1, 2008.
