SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:
 		













20 ILCS 605/605-975 new










    Amends the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois.  Provides that the Department shall create a web-accessible database containing profiles for municipalities and counties in the State that contain information relevant to businesses considering locating in Illinois.  Provides that municipalities and counties shall be encouraged to submit data to the Department for entry into the database.

    AN ACT concerning State government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic 
5
Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is 
6
amended  by adding Section 605-975 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 605/605-975  new)

    Sec. 605-975. Community database.  The Department shall 
9
create a web-accessible and searchable database containing 
10
profiles for municipalities and counties in the State.  The 
11
database shall include relevant labor market information, 
12
including information regarding access to transportation, 
13
availability of skilled labor, labor costs, properties ready 
14
for development, tax rates coupled with State and local 
15
incentives, access to telecommunications infrastructure, 
16
access to major markets, access to raw materials and suppliers, 
17
operating costs, and other data relevant to businesses 
18
considering locating in Illinois.  Municipalities and counties 
19
shall be encouraged to submit data to the Department for entry 
20
into the database.
