| AN ACT concerning local government.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 11-1-12 as follows:
|

| Sec. 11-1-12. Residential parking permits; Chicago. The |
| 8 |
| corporate authorities of the City of Chicago may not enact or |
| 9 |
| enforce an ordinance allowing on-street residential permit |
| 10 |
| parking. This Section is a denial and limitation of home rule |
| 11 |
| powers and functions under subsection (h) of Section 6 of |
| 12 |
| Article VII of the Illinois Constitution.
