Amends the Historic Preservation Agency Act. Provides that the Historic Preservation Agency shall create a business plan, addressing ways to enhance tourism and the historical aspect of historic sites, for each historic site related to Abraham Lincoln. Provides that the Agency may seek assistance from the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity when creating the business plans. Provides a deadline for completion of the business plans. Effective immediately.

| AN ACT concerning State government.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|

| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Historic Preservation Agency Act is amended |
5 |
| by adding Section 8 as follows: |

| (20 ILCS 3405/8 new) |

| Sec. 8. Business plans. The Agency shall create an |
8 |
| individual business plan for each historic site related to |
9 |
| Abraham Lincoln that is listed in Section 6 of this Act. Each |
10 |
| business plan must address ways to enhance tourism at the |
11 |
| historic site and the historic aspect of each site. The Agency |
12 |
| may seek assistance from the Department of Commerce and |
13 |
| Economic Opportunity when creating the business plans. The |
14 |
| Agency shall complete the business plans no later than January |
15 |
| 1, 2008.

| Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
17 |
| becoming law.
