| AN ACT concerning education.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 7-1 as follows:
|
| 6 |

| Sec. 7-1.
|
| 8 |
| This Article applies only to community college districts in |
| 9 |
| cities
having a population of 500,000 or more inhabitants. Each |
| 10 |
| such community
college district shall maintain a system of |
| 11 |
| community colleges under the
the
charge of a board, which is |
| 12 |
| appointed as provided in Section 7-2. Except as
otherwise |
| 13 |
| provided in this Article, such a community college district and
|
| 14 |
| its board have all the rights, duties, powers and |
| 15 |
| responsibilities and are
subject to the same limitations as are |
| 16 |
| provided for other community college
districts in this Act, as |
| 17 |
| now or hereafter amended. |
