| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Abused and Neglected Long Term Care Facility |

| Residents Reporting
Act is amended by changing Section 2 as |
| 6 |
| follows:
|

| Sec. 2. The
The Illinois Department of Public Health shall |
| 9 |
| upon receiving
reports made under this Act, seek to protect |
| 10 |
| residents and prevent further
harm to the resident who was the |
| 11 |
| subject of the report and other residents
in the facility. In |
| 12 |
| performing these duties, the Department may utilize
such |
| 13 |
| protective services of other State departments, commissions, |
| 14 |
| boards
or other agencies and any voluntary agencies as are |
| 15 |
| available. |
