| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |

| represented in the General Assembly:

| Section 5. The County Jail Act is amended by changing |
| 5 |
| Section 2 as follows:
|

The Sheriff of each county in this State shall |

| be the warden
of the jail of the county, and have the custody |

| of all prisoners in the
jail, except when otherwise provided in |
