| AN ACT concerning courts.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Judicial Vacancies Act is amended by |
| 5 |
| changing Section 3 as follows:
|
| 6 |
| (705 ILCS 40/3) (from Ch. 37, par. 72.43)

| Sec. 3. If any provision of this Act or the
the application |
| 8 |
| thereof to any
person or circumstances is held invalid, the |
| 9 |
| invalidity shall not affect
other provisions or applications of |
| 10 |
| this Act which can be given effect
without the invalid |
| 11 |
| provision or application, and to this end the
provisions of |
| 12 |
| this Act are severable. |
