| AN ACT concerning utilities.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 |
| Section 5. The Public Utilities Act is amended by adding |
| 5 |
| Section 5-110 as follows:
|

|
| 7 |
| Sec. 5-110. Disclosure of customer information to law |
| 8 |
| enforcement
agencies. A public utility shall not disclose |
| 9 |
| customer record information to a
law enforcement agency unless |
| 10 |
| the
the law enforcement agency requests the customer
record |
| 11 |
| information in writing, specifying that the information is |
| 12 |
| necessary for
a law enforcement purpose. Customer record |
| 13 |
| information includes, but is not
limited to, social security |
| 14 |
| numbers, public aid numbers, and employment data.
Nothing in |
| 15 |
| this Section shall affect the Commission's access to |
| 16 |
| information
under this Act or any other law.
