    Amends the Election Code.  Prohibits certain gubernatorial appointees from soliciting campaign contributions on behalf of the incumbent Governor during the duration of the person's appointment.

    AN ACT concerning elections.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Election Code is amended  by adding Section 
5
9-8.5 as follows:

    (10 ILCS 5/9-8.5  new)

    Sec. 9-8.5. Solicitation of contributions by gubernatorial 
8
appointees. A person appointed by a Governor to a board, 
9
commission, authority, or task force authorized or created by 
10
State law or by executive order or as the director or secretary 
11
of a department listed in Section 5-5 of the Civil 
12
Administrative Code of Illinois may not solicit contributions 
13
on behalf of the incumbent Governor during the duration of the 
14
person's appointment.
