20 ILCS 1605/7.9 new










    Amends the Illinois Lottery Law. Requires the Department of Revenue to carry on a continuous study of the lottery throughout the State on the demographic data of individuals who play the lottery and to report that information annually. Effective immediately.

    AN ACT concerning the lottery.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Illinois Lottery Law is amended  by adding 
5
Section 7.9 as follows:

    (20 ILCS 1605/7.9  new)

    Sec. 7.9. Study of demographic data. The Department shall 
8
carry on a continuous study of the lottery throughout the State 
9
on the demographic data of individuals who play the lottery.

The information collected under the study must be included each 
11
year in the Department's report under Section 7.8.

    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
13
becoming law.
