AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 4527

    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4527 as follows:

on page 2, line 11, after "thereafter.", by inserting "If 
4
moneys appropriated for grants under this Section are not 
5
sufficient, then the State Librarian shall reduce the per 
6
capita amount of the grants so that the qualifying public 
7
libraries receive the same amount per capita, but in no event 
8
shall the grant be less than equivalent to the difference 
9
between the amount of the tax revenue obtained from the current 
10
levy and an annual income of $4.25 per capita."; and

on page 3, line 8, after "thereafter.", by inserting "If moneys 
12
appropriated for grants under this Section are not sufficient,

    "Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect July 1, 
8
2008.".
