    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 4649  by replacing

everything after the enacting clause with the following:

    "Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended  by

changing  the heading of Article V of Chapter 11 and by adding 
6
Section 11-507 as follows:

TRANSPORTING ALCOHOLIC LIQUOR,

    (625 ILCS 5/11-507  new)

    Sec. 11-507. Uninsured operation of a motor vehicle.

    (a)  A person commits the offense of uninsured operation of 
15
a motor vehicle when he or she:

        (1) operates a motor vehicle in violation of Section 
2
    7-601 of this Code; and
3
        (2)  causes bodily harm to another person that was the 
4
    proximate result of  the driver's uninsured  operation of the 
5
    motor vehicle.

    (b)  Uninsured operation of a motor vehicle is a Class A 
7
misdemeanor.".
