| AN ACT concerning regulation.

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Fire Sprinkler Contractor Licensing Act is |
5 |
| amended by changing Section 5 as follows:
|

| Sec. 5. Legislative intent. It is declared that
that within |
8 |
| the State of
Illinois there are, and
may continue to be, |
9 |
| locations where the improper installation or repair of fire
|
10 |
| sprinkler systems
creates conditions that may adversely affect |
11 |
| the public health and general
welfare. Therefore, the
purpose |
12 |
| of this Act is to protect, promote, and preserve the public |
13 |
| health and
general welfare by
providing for the establishment |
14 |
| of minimum standards for licensure of fire
sprinkler |
15 |
| installation
contractors. |
