| AN ACT concerning civil law.
|

| Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
3 |
| represented in the General Assembly:
|

| Section 5. The Non-Support Punishment Act is amended by |
5 |
| changing Section 7 as follows:
|

| (750 ILCS 16/7)
|

| Sec. 7. Prosecutions by Attorney General. In addition to |
8 |
| enforcement
proceedings by the the several State's Attorneys, a |
9 |
| proceeding for the enforcement
of this Act may be instituted |
10 |
| and prosecuted by the Attorney General in cases
referred by the |
11 |
| Department of Healthcare and Family Services involving persons |
12 |
| receiving
child support enforcement services under Article X of |
13 |
| the
Illinois Public Aid
Code. Before referring a case to the |
14 |
| Attorney General for enforcement under
this Act, the Department |
15 |
| of Healthcare and Family Services shall notify the person |
16 |
| receiving child
support enforcement services under Article X of |
17 |
| the Illinois
Public Aid Code of
the Department's intent to |
18 |
| refer the case to the Attorney General under this
Section for |
19 |
| prosecution.
