HOUSE JOINT RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois General Assembly are 
3
saddened to  learn of the death of
Evan Joseph de Mello of 
4
Marion, who passed away on October 4, 2007; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Evan de Mello was born on September 18, 2003 in 
6
St. Louis; his parents were Sean and Natalie (Walls) de Mello; 
7
and

 
8
    WHEREAS, Evan de Mello loved to play with Thomas the Train 
9
toys; he liked to watch Dora the Explorer, as well as the 
10
Backyardigans; and

 
11
    WHEREAS, Evan de Mello was preceded in death by his 
12
grandmother, Karen Patton; his great-grandmother, Elizabeth 
13
Zurba; and his great-grandparents, Hassie and Luther Walls and 
14
Van and Janis Ellis; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, Evan de Mello is survived by his parents, Sean and 
16
Natalie; his grandparents, David and Marilyn Walls and Russ and 
17
Marguerite Dory; his paternal grandfather, James Patton; his 
18
aunts, Heather and Caitlin Walls; his uncle, David Walls Jr.; 
19
and his many other relatives; and

    WHEREAS, Evan de Mello will be remembered by all who knew

and loved him as a loving, caring, and imaginative boy who 
2
never complained; his bravery through all adversity in his life 
3
was inspiring to all; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, THE 
6
SENATE CONCURRING HEREIN, that we mourn, along with his family 
7
and friends, the passing of Evan Joseph de Mello; and be it 
8
further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the family of Evan Joseph de Mello as an 
11
expression of our sympathy.
