| WHEREAS, Chandra R. Walls is retiring from her position as |
| 3 |
| Deputy Chief Probation Officer with the Circuit Court of Cook |
| 4 |
| County, Juvenile Division after 32 years of service with the |
| 5 |
| court; and |
| 6 |
| WHEREAS, She received her Bachelor of Arts degree at |
| 7 |
| Central State University in Wilberforce, Ohio and her Master of |
| 8 |
| Arts degree from Northeastern University in Chicago; and |
| 9 |
| WHEREAS, She began her career with the Circuit Court in |
| 10 |
| April of 1969 as a Probation Officer 1, and she was promoted to |
| 11 |
| Deputy Chief Probation officer in 2001; and |
| 12 |
| WHEREAS, As vice president of the Local, she was on the |
| 13 |
| first negotiating team that brought the first collective |
| 14 |
| bargaining agreement to the Juvenile Probation Division of the |
| 15 |
| Circuit Court of Cook County; she served as Vice President of |
| 16 |
| Local 3477 of the AFSCME labor union from 1990 to 2001; and |
| 17 |
| WHEREAS, Chandra Walls was one of the first to be certified |
| 18 |
| in the Family Therapy Program; she was one of the first to |
| 19 |
| volunteer for the Juvenile Advisory Committee; she served as |
| 20 |
| co-chair of the Performance Appraisal Committee; and she also |
| 21 |
| initiated the Girls Empowerment Program to Markham Circuit |
