HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to honor the Jersey County Business 
4
Association on the occasion of the Association's 50th 
5
anniversary; and

 
6
    WHEREAS, The Jerseyville Chamber of Commerce was founded on 
7
May 31, 1956; the organization changed its name to the Jersey 
8
County Chamber of Commerce in 1996; and on July 1, 2004, the 
9
Jersey County Chamber of Commerce and the Jersey County 
10
Economic Development Corporation merged together and became 
11
the Jersey County Business Association; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Today there is an all time membership high of 225 
13
regular business members and 60 Ambassadors throughout Jersey 
14
County and surrounding counties; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, The Jersey County Business Association is an 
16
important part of the economic stability of Jerseyville, Jersey 
17
County, and surrounding communities; the Association continues 
18
to work on many projects to improve the business community, 
19
including the expansion of Highway 67 from Jerseyville to 
20
Godfrey; and

 
21
    WHEREAS, The Jersey County Business Association holds its

annual banquet on January 18, 2007 at the Pere Marquette Lodge 
2
where the 2006 Valda Beach Business of the Year award will be 
3
presented; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE  HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate the men and women who make up the Jersey County 
7
Business Association on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of 
8
the Association; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to Julie Brangenberg, Chairperson of the Jersey 
11
County Business Association.
