HOUSE RESOLUTION

    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3
Representatives are pleased to recognize Indian Valley Theatre 
4
in Sandwich, celebrating its 25th anniversary; and

 
5
    WHEREAS, Founded in 1982 with a start-up donation from the 
6
American Association of University Women, Indian Valley 
7
Theatre (IVT) began in the basement of what is now Castle Bank; 
8
the first production, Hansel and Gretel, was put on at Plano's 
9
Middle School; and

 
10
    WHEREAS, Indian Valley Theatre is a voluntary organization 
11
with 100 members serving throughout the community; and

 
12
    WHEREAS, Indian Valley Theatre produces several shows a 
13
year, as well as offering two children's drama workshops at the 
14
Sandwich Opera House and melodramas at the Sandwich Fair; and

 
15
    WHEREAS, The children's theatre workshop has over 250 
16
children that participate each year; and

 
17
    WHEREAS, Indian  Valley Theatre will stage a production of 
18
"The Music Man" in the Spring of 2007; and

 
19
    WHEREAS, Indian  Valley Theatre dramatic productions

stimulate human emotions, inspire and entertain audiences, 
2
thus enriching and making the community a better place to work 
3
and live; therefore, be it

    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5
NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6
congratulate the staff and players of Indian Valley Theatre on 
7
the 25th anniversary of the performing arts center and wish 
8
them continued good success in the future; and be it further

 
9
    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10
presented to the President of Indian Valley Theatre, Sue 
11
Johnson.
